New Dependant Season Ticket Application

Please complete all relevant fields and submit at least 7 days in advance.
RST will issue a season ticket approval for your Dependant according to their eligibility, status and requirements.
The season ticket will be issued exactly as defined on the form including start and end date. If something different is required, you must let RST know immediately and a new form will need to be sent.

Note:

  • If requesting a season ticket for a spouse or partner they must be in full time education with no income and evidence must be provided.

Note:

  • Dependants are not eligible for any travel on any LUL or DLR services so they cannot get a priv rate zonal Travelcard. Only dependants of safeguarded employees are eligible for this.

Based upon the Nature of Application specified above, the following additional information must be supplied to RST before eligibility to the journey can be considered:

  • School - please complete the School Name in the "Name of School/College/Uni" field.
     If your Dependant is 16 years or under then no further documentation is required
  • Full-Time College/University - please complete the College or University Name in the "Name of School/College/Uni" field.
     You will also need to attach proof of enrolment to this application.
  • Full-Time Advanced Educational Establishment - please complete the Education Establishment Name in the "Name of School/College/Uni" field.
     You will also need to attach proof of enrolment to this application.
Type and duration of season ticket required*
A Flexi season is 8 days travel in 28 days in Standard class only. To check one is available for your journey use the National Rail Season Ticket Calculator.

A Season Ticket can be either

  • 7 days (available from RST Online only)
  • Any duration between one month and one year

Once a child is aged 16 they must pay adult fares.

Purchasing your Season Ticket

Season tickets will be approved for a 75% discount (priv rate) of full fare season tickets on National Rail services only.

By purchasing through RST Online, you have the freedom to choose the start date, type of season ticket and period of validity to meet your commuting requirements.

Please note the following in relation to purchasing through RST Online:

Some season tickets are only available from a ticket office. These are for journeys:
  • to London Underground stations (Staff Travel Card holders - safeguarded employees only)
  • on a few specific routes in the London area where only Travelcard fares exist
  • entirely within in the Liverpool zonal area
  • entirely within the West Midlands zonal area
  • entirely within Scotland.
To purchase through RST Online:
  • you must have a registered account. If you have not set this up please contact RST for your one-time passcode.
  • your season ticket will be fulfilled to your RST Season Ticket Smartcard. If you do not have one, we will issue you with one.
  • you will be able to continue purchasing your season tickets via RST Online without reapplying to RST unless your journey changes.

To purchase at a Ticket Office you will receive an authorisation form to take to a ticket office. There you can buy your season ticket and you will need a new authorisation form for all future season tickets. You will need to apply to Rail Staff Travel each time you want to buy a new Season Ticket.
