The 'Britain Runs on Rail' campaign aimed to tell the story of today’s railway, region by region, highlighting rail’s ever more crucial role in enabling housing, jobs and economic growth - with events, posters and a television advert.
The railway's role in World War 1
Autumn 2014 to Autumn 2018
Commemorating 100 years since World War 1, we worked with the National Railway Museum to tell the story of the railway's role during wartime, including the important part played by women.
Year of Engineering
The ‘Year of Engineering’ was a government campaign to celebrate the world of engineering. During the year, the rail industry supported events for young scientists and engineers, and over the summer, we launched an activity book aimed at young children.
