For public fares, children up to 6 years old travel free in Standard Class only. Children up to 18 years old are eligible for a 50% reduction on the adult fare. Persons aged 18 and older pay the adult fare.

The following table supplied by ČD defines the boundaries of FIP availability across the ČD railway network. For the meanings of (Gr) or (fr) suffixes, please see the section - Transit Points of FIP carriers.

FIP discounted tickets can only be purchased on board trains when travelling from stations where the ticket office is closed.

FIP discounted tickets cannot be purchased from the ČD app, as the discounts in the app which give 50% reduction are not from FIP quotas.

Seat reservations are needed with FIP discounted tickets on SC services.

FIP facilities are not available:

• in Business Class on RailJet services (not to be confused with RegioJet, an independent operator)
• on cable car services operated by ČD
• on special and historic trains
• on ČD trains where the service is provided as a result of ČD winning a public tendering process (ČD have not not provided details on which services this exception applies to).

FIP travel documents are valid for through journeys that leave and re-enter Czechia on routes 083 and 098 (Děčín - Rumburk via Dolni Žleb and Dolní Poustevna and return).

Break of journey

Break of journey is not permitted on domestic services where the ticket is for a distance of up to 100km. It is permitted where the ticket is for a distance of 101km or greater (except when their train is passing through Germany. Leaving or joining these trains in Germany is also not permitted).

Supplements on Commercial Services

A supplement is payable on trains classified as “commercial”, and:

• when travelling with an FIP leisure coupon (but not an FIP duty coupon or using tickets purchased with a FIP Card)
• it costs the equivalent of €6 (as of December 2022). A receipt will show the number of the travel document to which it relates.
• is valid from 00.01hrs on the 1^st day to midnight the following day i.e. 48 hours. It can be purchased up to 60 days in advance from UNIPOK 2G ticket counters, ČD ticket offices, the ČD eShop or on-train where the conductor has the appropriate equipment.
• is issued to each traveller. It will show the number of the FIP coupon to which it relates and is non-transferrable.

Refunds on supplements

Refunds can be made up to 23.59hrs on the day prior to the first day of validity (no deduction applicable) or within 15 minutes of purchase (no deduction applicable). If an unused supplement is returned by 08.00hrs on the first day of validity, an admin charge of 100 CZK is applied. In any other cases, no refund is possible.

ČD have provided a list of restricted and Commercial Services for 2026. 

ČD Bus services

FIP coupons and International Senior Manager Free Passes are not valid on any ČD bus service.

FIP discounted facilities are available on the following bus services:

• Václav Havel Airport Prague to Praha hl. n. (Prague main station)
• Hranice na Moravĕ to Frýdek-Místek via Nový Jičin and Příbor

FIP discounted facilities are not valid on other ČD bus services.

You must buy a ticket (reservations compulsory) at least 15 minutes before boarding from ČD ticket offices, ticket machines, or from the ČD eShop.

Other Operators

ČD FIP facilities are not available on other operators including:

• Desná Railway (Arriva Morava)
• GW Train Regio
• Jindřichohradecké místní dráhy (JHMD)
• Leo Express
• RegioJet
