Meet our executive team

Having previously served as Director of Industry Operations, Dan began his railway career on Railtrack’s graduate programme in 2001. He went on to work in operational management roles across Railtrack, Network Rail and train operating companies before joining RDG in 2012, becoming a member of the Executive Team in 2022. During his tenure, he has helped lead major industry-wide programmes including the establishment of the Network Performance Board and the award-winning Traincrew Programme while championing skills, workforce diversity and new pathways into rail careers. 

Since joining RDG in 2018, over the past eight years Ola has held a series of senior leadership roles, including CFO, and Chief Financial and Operating Officer. With responsibility for the settlement of more than £11 billion of rail revenue each year, alongside oversight of major industry programmes, technology, people, procurement, legal and governance functions, he has played a key role in modernising RDG's internal operations and financial performance. His career experience includes a focus on customer outcomes, sustainability and innovation.  

Becky Green is Finance Director at RDG, bringing a strong finance background and valuable experience from previous roles in the healthcare sector. Alongside her professional expertise, Becky is a committed member of Empower, RDG’s staff network for women and non-binary colleagues. Through Empower, she helps champion positive change, provide support and celebrate achievements, reflecting her passion for creating a more inclusive workplace where everyone can succeed 

Cheryl Green is Director of People & Inclusion at Rail Delivery Group bringing more than 25 years' experience in HR, organisational change and people leadership. Having spent nearly 15 years across both ATOC and RDG, she has played a key role in shaping the organisation’s people agenda, championing inclusion, wellbeing and employee engagement. Prior to joining RDG, Cheryl worked across the welfare-to-work, media and publishing sectors. Cheryl is passionate about creating a workplace where everyone can thrive and is committed to building a positive, inclusive culture that supports colleagues to do their best work. 

Jason is the Director of the CEO office with accountability for the customer, information security and chief of staff functions.

He began his rail industry career with InterCity in 1994 during the early stages of privatisation, before joining Virgin Trains in 1997 in a business strategy role. After focusing on sales distribution, he joined Trainline when it was part of the Virgin Group, before moving into the commercial team at Virgin West Coast. Jason moved to ATOC to lead the digital strategy for National Rail Enquiries. 

Sam Woolley has built a 15-year career in the rail industry, working across train operating companies from frontline operations to senior operational delivery, strategy and performance roles. Throughout his career, he has focused on driving collaboration across the industry, improving the reliability and effectiveness of Britain’s railway, helping to ensure passengers receive dependable services every day. His expertise in operational strategy, performance and train service delivery continues to play a vital role in supporting a better railway for customers across the country. 

Simon Wright has spent more than 35 years in the rail industry, beginning his career in the Ticket Office with British Rail and progressing through a wide range of retail, commercial and IT related roles to his current position. His extensive experience gives him a deep understanding of the industry and the people who keep it moving. Simon is also an active senior sponsor and ally of Platform, RDG’s LGBTQ+ network, supporting its work to foster inclusion, celebrate diversity and create a workplace where everyone feels valued and able to be themselves.
