Rail Staff Leisure Card renewal for 2026/27
This news item only applies to holders of a Rail Staff Leisure Card (non-safeguarded employees). It does not apply to holders of a Staff Travel Card (safeguarded employees) who have continuous service in the rail industry since at least 31 March 1996 or holders of the RST Online Leisure Card.
The new Rail Staff Leisure cards, valid from 1st November 2026 until 31 October 2027, have now been posted to the address we hold for you. Please do not try and use the card before the start date as the barcode when scanned will show the card as not valid.
If you have not received your new Rail Staff Leisure card by Thursday 22 October, please complete the xx47 Renewal Post Loss form on our website at www.raildeliverygroup.com/rst/forms.html#card. You can only submit the form from 22 October as we cannot accept any requests for replacements until that date. If you do not do this by 30 November 2026 you will have to pay a replacement fee for new cards to be issued.
You do not need to contact us if you have received the cards you are expecting.
A replacement fee will be charged if you have moved address and not advised RST and cannot retrieve your card(s).
Generally, cards for yourself and family members will arrive in the same envelope. However:
If you have not received a card for a child who is turning or aged 18 or over, then either:
- a Child Declaration has been submitted recently. Once this is processed, then the card for your child will be dispatched separately. There is no need to contact us.
- a Child Declaration is outstanding. Please submit form xx05 from via our website www.raildeliverygroup.com/rst/forms.html#family and provide the appropriate documentation to support your application.
If you have not received a card for a family member you have only recently completed an application for, these cards will arrive slightly later, and we will email you once they have been posted. There is no need to contact us.
The card contains a railcard format barcode. This must be presented to ticket inspectors for scanning alongside the ticket you are travelling with. The barcode does not operate ticket gates. When travelling you must have your in-date Rail Staff Leisure card to support your priv ticket. Photos of the pass will not be accepted.
The ‘PV’ code on the card is a railcard code aimed at retail staff to find staff discounted tickets in their Ticket Issuing System.
